Welcome to my belly!

Like many of you, I have been eating and drinking since the day I was born. When I was 3 years old, we travelled to France, where..and when, I believe, began my culinary life. Not many toddlers have the opportunity to taste the 1985 Chateau Margaux before maturation, but I had such a chance...and I may as well have been drinking Welches from my sippy-cup.

Since then, most of my free time has been devoted to the exploration of all things related to the mouth...and a few extra pounds around the middle shows from this investment. I not so much as stumbled upon this quest as was I born in to it. My mother and her family being from a long line of fish merchants, chefs and restaurant entrepreneurs from the coast, I inherited the savoir-faire of the food business. My father, somewhat of an anomaly, is a surgeon by day but moonlights as a true gourmet (or gourmand),serving up 5 course tasting menus with wine pairings on a nightly basis. Believe me when I tell you, being the only 3rd grader with pate in her lunch box can be a lonely path. From this I am spawn.

Here in this discussion, everything buucal is on the plate. I will explore, cook, taste, and pursue everything gustatory....I invite you to join me.
